Medjool dates as tapas

Roasted medjool dates on small wooden serving board with minced pistachios

Barcelona wine bar serves roasted dates as a tapas. The dates were prepared with pistachios and possibly olive oil. I declined the valdeon (blue cheese).  Roasting was not necessary. I think the oil and pistachios would suffice. I like the idea of using olive oil with fruit as this reduces the temptation to eat bread with olive oil.
